Nissan's infiniti, the luxury brand, is displaying new technology that is able to change the compression of fuel to the engine. The "VC" stands for varying compression and this technology is packing numerous benefits that could be one of the biggest contributors to saving the environment. This type of engine requires less fuel that any other average engines. it can run on 2 liters compared to the average 3.5. Besides being fuel efficient, this engine is also lighter and requires less materials to make. The engineers estimated this new engine to be 27 percent more efficient than V-6 engines. Designing this engine also took in consideration performance and efficiency; therefore, the consumers are not sacrificing power.

On the other hand, the emissions of greenhouse gases from cars specifically will be reduced. This is a trade off that I believe most people would dislike, but studies conducted by Nissan indicate that the increase in cost of cars is certainly going to be less than that required to clean the atmosphere from greenhouse gases.
