According to a study conducted by Lancaster University, there is a possible connection between air pollution and the disease known as Alzheimer's. Professor Barbara Maher and her team studied the brain tissues of 37 subjects from Manchester and the New Mexico. The results were astounding because the team found tiny pollutants wedged in the brain tissue of these subjects. These particles were later identified to be magnetite, which are magnetic and toxic minerals. Alzheimer's disease has be linked to neurodegeneratives such as magnetite. Besides the discovery of magnetite, the research group successfully managed to identify other particles such as platinum, nickel, and cobalt.
So should we worry? No because at one point we will forget it about this issue! In all seriousness, this is just proving that air pollution needs to be contained or reduced to great amounts. besides damaging our environment and lungs, air pollution is damaging our brain. I personally do not know anyone with a neurodegenerative, but surely others do. Alzheimer's is increasing its death rate to about 70 percent. We can not stop this disease; however, we can slow it down by reducing air pollution.
