The population pyramid for Turlock is fairly straight until it hits the age of 60 in which it starts declining. The straight pyramid indicates a healthy and stable population.
Having a pyramid such as the above indicates small population of children and adolescents. This type of pyramid shows a possible decline in the population of New York in the near future.
This population is stable and could have a possible decline. There is something different about this graph and that is the population of people between 20-24 years old. This difference is caused by students attending Cal Poly. We can expect similar results on other campus cities.
The state of this population in the future is extremely difficult to determine due to the lack of a huge population. We see that there are much more males than females. Almost everywhere else, women seem to live longer.
Detroit has a similar population pyramid that can be easily compared to that of Turlock's. The population seems to be steady because of the equal distribution of age.
New Orleans has a fluctuating population pyramid, but the overall trend hint at a future decline of the population in the future. The decline is not certain because of the existence of numerous middle aged people.
